Passes arrive when the receiver is there
- playbook
- drills
A pass now lands at the moment the receiver gets to the ball, even when they keep running afterwards.
What was wrong
If you drew a pass and then dragged the receiver on (a give-and-go, a catch and run, a handoff), the play held the pass back until the very end. The receiver ran their whole route first and the ball chased them to wherever they finished. Twelve library drills showed the same thing, including the handoff mesh, the pitch sweep and the 3-man weave.
What you will notice
- Plays you draw from now on pass in the order you drew them: the ball arrives, then the receiver runs on with it.
- Plays you have already saved keep the timing they were saved with.
- Drills, coaching guide plays and famous plays now hit the receiver on the move. A few drills start their players a little further back so the catch happens at full speed, and their setup steps say where.
- Stepping into Draw and pressing Play again no longer leaves the ball stuck with the first player.
