Rugby coaches now have their own shelf in the drill library, with eight rugby union drills your players can watch before they run them. Find them all on the rugby drills page.
What is on the shelf
- Catch-pass in lines, 2v1 draw and pass and the 3v2 overlap, for handling and beating a defender.
- Tackle technique, a safe progression from the knees up, and the ruck clear-out. Both are marked as contact drills and point you to your union's age-grade rules.
- The lineout throw and lift and the scrum-half pass off the base.
- The kick-chase line, a touch game to finish.
Each drill has the setup, the coaching points, how to make it harder, and the law it is teaching, from the forward pass to the offside line at the ruck.
Put them in a practice plan
Press Add to a practice plan on any drill, or pick rugby in the practice plan maker. The drills come with their time and the one thing to say, and they print on your run sheet. If you have an account, Add a drill in Sessions lists them too.
Everyone moves at once
In drills where the whole team goes together, the animation now moves them together. In the flag football drills, the four defenders in zone drops drop on the snap, the three receivers in routes on air run their routes at once, and both teams in the handoff relay race side by side.
