About this play
South Africa v Japan, Rugby World Cup, Brighton Community Stadium, 19 September 2015. Three points down at the end, Japan turned down a kick at goal for the draw and set a scrum on the South African line. The ball was moved left through hands, number eight Amanaki Mafi drew the last defender and passed, and replacement wing Karne Hesketh dived in at the left corner for a 34-32 win. Drawn simplified as its final phase: the try comes from fixing defenders inside before the last pass.
