About this play

The early offence of Mike D'Antoni's Phoenix Suns from 2004, built around Steve Nash and Amar'e Stoudemire. Before the defence is set, the big runs to set a drag screen for Nash high in the half court and rolls hard to the basket while shooters fill both corners. Nash comes off the screen and hits the roller. It works because it happens in transition: with the corners filled, nobody is in position to help on the roll.
