About this play

Pakistan's Sohail Abbas scored more international goals than any other men's player of his era, most of them by drag flick from penalty corners. The injector pushes the ball out from the back line, the stopper traps it just outside the top of the circle, and the flicker drags it at goal from a short run-up. Unlike a hit, a flick may rise above backboard height, so the five defenders get almost no time: the first runner has only the length of the circle to close it down.
