About this play

The only goal of the 2010 World Cup final in Johannesburg, scored in the 116th minute and giving Spain their first World Cup. Cesc Fàbregas, on the left side of the area, slips the ball across to Andrés Iniesta, who has drifted into space on the right of the box. Iniesta controls it and drives it past Maarten Stekelenburg. It works because the Dutch defence had been pulled towards the ball, and the pass goes into the space they have just left.
