Every sport opens on a play

Until now only soccer opened on a finished play. Pick basketball, football or any other sport and you got an empty pitch, with the formations three taps away.

What changed

• Every sport starts with players on the pitch. The first time you open the designer for a sport, you get the formation from that sport's page with one move drawn on it: a corner lift from Horns in basketball, a seam route from Shotgun Trips in football, a centre pass in netball, and so on. It plays once by itself. If your device asks for reduced motion, it waits for you to press play.
• Clear and start fresh works as before. Tap it to get a blank pitch.
• The cookie question is a thin strip now. It used to cover the bottom fifth of a phone screen, including the button you came for. It is a single row with the same Accept and Decline buttons.
• The button comes first on a phone. On every sport page, the button that opens the designer is above the picture, so it is on screen when the page loads.
